About the role

As a Non-Executive Director, you will work alongside other non-executive and executive directors as an equal member of the Board, sharing responsibility for the decisions made by the Board and for the success of the organisation in leading the local delivery and improvement of healthcare services. You will help shape the strategy, vision and purpose of the Trust, hold it to account for the delivery of that strategy and value for money, and ensure that risks to the organisation and the public are managed and mitigated effectively.

The Trust has identified a need to drive the digital agenda, and the successful candidate will be key in supporting this through membership of our newly established Digital and Data Committee. We are seeking someone with extensive experience in the digital sector, ideally with NHS board-level experience – however this is not a requirement, and we welcome applications from those with senior leadership or board experience and a digital portfolio in either the private or public sector.

Time Commitments and Terms of Office

A Non-Executive Director is paid £15,015 per annum for a commitment of an average of four working days per month, although a greater time commitment should be expected in the initial period.

This will include regular meetings of the Board and its committees, reading papers and being briefed, attending Trust sites and representing the Trust in a variety of forums, which may take place during the day or in the evening. Therefore, a degree of flexibility will be required.

The appointment is for a term of three years. Remuneration is taxable and subject to Class 1 National Insurance contributions.
